Acknowledging the vital partnerships that power our work in the community.
For over 55 years, New Horizons has been dedicated to supporting thousands of Australians to live with independence, confidence, and wellbeing. Our ability to provide life-changing disability accommodation, mental health programs, homelessness support, and First Nations services is made possible through strong, collaborative partnerships.
We operate as a dedicated, not-for-profit service provider, entrusted by all levels of government to deliver high-quality, essential services.
This page is dedicated to acknowledging the key government partners who share our vision and enable us to support our customers in building brighter futures.
New Horizons is proud to be a key delivery partner for both Commonwealth and State Governments. Our sustainable funding model is based on two primary sources:
- National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS): We work directly with NDIS participants, supporting their individual goals through services like Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA), Supported Independent Living (SIL), Community Participation (CP) and Support Coordination.
- Government-funded programs: We are commissioned by various government departments to deliver specific, high-impact "block-funded" programs. This allows us to provide specialist support in crucial areas like mental health, peer work, and homelessness.
This partnership-based model ensures we can focus 100% of our resources on what matters most: delivering consistent, professional, and person-centred support to our customers.
We extend our sincere thanks to the Commonwealth and State Government departments and agencies that partner with us. Their trust and investment allow us to be a stable, innovative, and reliable force for good in the communities we serve.
While our partnerships are numerous, we particularly acknowledge the significant support from funding partners:
- National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) for empowering thousands of NDIS participants to live more independently through our disability services.
- NSW Ministry of Health for their vital state-based funding that allows us to deliver targeted, local solutions for mental health and housing support.
- Primary Health Networks (PHNs) for their vital role in planning and commissioning essential health services, allowing us to deliver targeted mental health and wellbeing support directly within local communities.
- Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) for their essential collaboration in supporting vulnerable individuals and families, enabling us to deliver key initiatives across homelessness and community support services.
- Australian Government Department of Social Services (DSS) for their commitment to building stronger, more resilient communities, which underpins our homelessness and support programs.
- Commonwealth Department of Health and Aged Care for championing new approaches to mental wellbeing, allowing us to expand our innovative mental health and peer work programs.
- National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA) for supporting our commitment to genuine partnership and empowerment through our dedicated First Nations programs.
This partnership-based model ensures we can focus 100% of our resources on what matters most: delivering consistent, professional, and person-centred support to our customers.
These strategic partnerships are the foundation upon which we build real-world outcomes. They enable us to provide safe homes, compassionate mental health support, and pathways to independence for people across Australia.
