Each year, the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) reviews and updates the pricing guide to make sure it reflects market conditions and supports sustainable service delivery. These updates outline the maximum prices registered providers can charge for supports and services.
Disability Support Worker Costs
Support prices have increased to reflect:
• A 3.5 percent rise in wages
• A 0.5 percent increase in superannuation
This means many Core Supports, Level 1 Support Coordination and Psychosocial Recovery Coaching services have increased by around 3.95 percent.
• A new national price limit has been introduced
• Providers in QLD, NSW and VIC receive a $10 increase
• Other states see an $11.23 reduction
• Remote and very remote areas face a 4.6 percent decrease
• A $10 decrease from previous East Coast pricing
• Providers outside the East Coast face reductions of up to 18 percent
• Price limits have dropped by 2.6 percent across all regions
There are now clearer rules on claiming travel time for therapists:
• Travel can only be billed at 50 percent of the relevant hourly rate
• Maximum billable travel remains:
– 30 minutes in metropolitan areas
– 60 minutes in remote or very remote locations
Under the NDIS Pricing Arrangements, providers may claim for non-labour transport costs where these are part of delivering supports to participants. At New Horizons, we currently charge $1.11 per kilometre for transport linked to NDIS-funded supports, in line with NDIA guidance.
Several updates have been made to Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) supports:
• The eligible age range now includes children under 9 (previously under 7)
• Providers must declare and manage any conflicts of interest
• Responsibilities have been clarified, with guidance on transparency, duty of care and service quality
Plan Management
• Monthly plan management fees remain unchanged for the sixth year in a row
• The initial plan set up fee has been removed
• Remote and very remote loadings have been discontinued
• No changes to the price limits
Personal Trainers
• Personal Trainers are not recognised as therapy providers under current pricing rules
The following supports have had a 3.2 percent increase:
• Health supports provided by registered or enrolled nurses
• Personal domestic activities
• Specialised home-based support for children
• House cleaning and household activities
• House or yard maintenance
NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits ensure consistency, transparency and fairness across the sector. Providers must comply with these guidelines to deliver supports to NDIA managed or plan managed participants.
The NDIA reviews pricing annually and makes further updates throughout the year to respond to market changes.
