Fifty five years ago, our founders established a world-first social enterprise when they partnered with BP to create employment opportunities for people with disability. Since then we’ve grown to become one of Australia’s most diverse and trusted non-profits, supporting thousands of people.

Imagine a spark of innovation, ignited over 55 years ago. That spark was Charlotte Leung’s vision, a pioneering spirit that blossomed into New Horizons, Australia’s very first social enterprise.
Since 1967, we’ve been weaving threads of care, innovation, and unwavering commitment into the fabric of our community. We believe in the power of connection, the strength of resilience, and the boundless potential within each individual. Our story is one of growth and transformation. Join us in celebrating this incredible legacy and discover how, together, we continue to create a brighter future.

We’re proud to say we were Australia’s first social enterprise. Over 55 years, we’ve learned that collaboration, kindness, and respect are key. That strong foundation, combined with our drive to provide excellent services, helps us make a real difference in the Australian NFP sector.
Since Charlotte Leung’s early days, we’ve been fortunate to have dedicated leaders who’ve helped New Horizons grow and thrive. Advocating for change and pushing the limits of what’s possible is in our DNA. As we continue to grow and innovate, we’re excited to see what’s next.

As one of Australia’s leading providers of mental health supports, we empower people to live independently, access the right services, build meaningful community connections, and take confident steps toward their future goals.

We can support you to overcome isolation, reduce loneliness, build confidence, develop relationships, participate in activities, and connect with family, friends, community and employment.

At New Horizons, we understand that each individual’s needs and aspirations are unique. Our person-centred approach to support coordination means we take the time to get to know you, your goals, and your preferences.

Our specialist clinical supports include occupational therapy, counseling, and behavioral services, all designed to help you and your care providers plan and manage your support needs more effectively.

At New Horizons, we believe everyone deserves a safe, stable home. We provide immediate support and long-term solutions to help you secure housing and build a better future.

At New Horizons, we believe in supporting the aging process with dignity and respect. We offer a range of aged care services that focus on individual choice, helping older adults live well in a safe and caring environment.

New Horizons has a long and proud history of supporting indigenous communities. We’ve self-funded and sponsored numerous local community initiatives aimed at enhancing the social, emotional and physical wellbeing of Indigenous people.

We support people from diverse backgrounds, offering specialised services that help humanitarian migrants integrate, connect, and fully participate as they rebuild their lives in Australia.

We can assist with all your housing needs, whether you need help living independently at home, require short-term housing, or need long-term specialised supported living for disability or mental health.

Our Australian Disability Enterprise (ADE) programs offer meaningful employment opportunities that provide valuable work experience while promoting social inclusion and personal growth.
