
Cherelyn Seal is a dedicated professional in the Property and Procurement sector, currently serving as the General Manager of Property, Fleet, Category, and Procure to Pay at New Horizons, where she started in January 2021. Cherelyn’s journey into the not-for-profit (NFP) sphere has been profoundly fulfilling, as she discovered a deeper sense of purpose in her work. Cherelyn’s formal education includes studies in Procurement and Contracting, and she is in the process of completing her Master of Business Administration. With a rich background in the retail sector, she has gained extensive experience managing multi-million-dollar tenders across diverse supplier contracts, covering a wide range of categories from window cleaning services to Time & Attendance software.
Throughout her career, Cherelyn has found great satisfaction in project work. One of her standout achievements has been the implementation of various Procurement to Pay and Expense systems, driving positive change and process efficiencies in her previous roles. At New Horizons, she is particularly proud of her contributions toward reducing the company’s CO2 emissions through impactful sustainability initiatives, including the installation of solar panels on several properties and establishing landfill diversion streams, like recycling wood waste into particle board.
Cherelyn also values leadership and collaboration, taking pride in guiding a talented and diverse team. Together, they have fostered a strong culture within their departments, emphasizing teamwork and mutual growth.
Outside of her professional achievements, Cherelyn has a passion for carpentry and enjoys building furniture. An interesting tidbit about her is that she was born with extra bones in her feet — a quirky fact that adds a touch of humour to her unique story.
